August is a good month to prioritise pet dental health.

There’s no time like August to focus on oral health for Australia’s companion animals with the nationwide celebration of AVA (Australian Veterinary Association) Pet Dental Health Month.

This year’s theme is ‘Quality dental care is good medicine’ with the Australian Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS) aiming to spend the month promoting oral health to vets and pet owners alike. Keep an eye out for AVA media coverage during August promoting good dental health messages for pets.

Right now, you can check out the client and practice resources on the AVA website, including handy client fact sheets to download on oral health for dogs and cats, horses, and rabbits.

You can also register for a free webinar on Tuesday 13 August at 6pm AEST brought to you by the AVDS. Christine Hawke will be presenting on the topic: ‘Designing evidence-based dental home care that works’. She will discuss how different products work, how to assess product efficacy and safety, and ways of designing home-care programs for your patients that actually work.
