Feline Guardians has reached a major milestone in its mission to combat organised feline torture and protect cats worldwide. The organisation is now an officially registered US nonprofit with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. The announcement comes amid growing international concern over online cat torture networks. These organised communities create, distribute, and consume videos depicting the torture and killing of cats.
In June, president Lara Bruce represented the organisation at events in both the House of Commons and House of Lords in the UK Parliament focused on animal welfare, public safety, and legislative progress.
For nearly three years, Feline Guardians has worked to expose these networks and advocate for stronger protections for cats. Abuse networks have been found in major countries around the world and Feline Guardians holds key data on these groups.
The organisation has been featured by CNN, the BBC, news.com.au, and other major media outlets.
Only official, authorised Feline Guardians representatives and social media accounts are authorized to speak on behalf of the organisation.
“Our mission is to act effectively against organised feline torture while working toward a world where every cat is treated with love, respect, and dignity,” Bruce said.
“The growth of online torture communities represents a serious animal welfare crisis that demands coordinated action from governments, law enforcement, technology platforms, and society.”
