Hands-On Learning at the Bain Fallon Repro Workshop
As part of the Bain Fallon program, the Reproduction Workshop held on 19–20 July provided an invaluable opportunity for equine practitioners to upskill ahead of the breeding season. The first day was packed with lectures from reproductive specialists, Dr Joan Carrick, Dr Margo Macpherson, Dr Jennifer Clulow, Dr Chelsie Burden, and Dr Annie Blisen covering everything from interpreting endometrial biopsies to tackling the problem broodmare. Day two took delegates out to WestVets Equine facility in Marburg for practical sessions.
Radincon was proud to supply key diagnostic imaging equipment for the workshop, helping ensure participants had the opportunity to gain authentic, hands-on experience with the same high-quality tools they use in the field.
The feedback from attendees spoke volumes – having access to reliable, advanced equipment made a noticeable difference in their ability to practice techniques and build confidence. A Well-Earned Break on the Green
Of course, Bain Fallon isn’t all about lectures and practical sessions, it’s also about reconnecting with colleagues, breaking down barriers and building new relationships that can last for all the years one is an equine vet. It is a great event for sharing stories and enjoying just a little healthy competition. We noticed the younger members Thrived in this environment and gained fantastic insights in how to survive in what can be a difficult vocation. This year’s Bain Fallon Golf Day, again proudly sponsored by Radincon, was the perfect chance to do just that.
Under sunny skies (yes, we organise that), veterinarians and our valued industry partners took to the fairways for an afternoon of laughter, great camaraderie, and the usual competitive spirit, it’s a pretty impressive trophy to get your name on! There were some impressive swings, a few unexpected slices, and plenty of friendly banter along the way. Prizes were awarded for first and second place teams, as well as for the longest drive and nearest-the-pin challenges.
Canon were our valued co-sponsors this year, generously providing some fantastic prizes including Canon cameras and branded merchandise.. Canon’s Sho Kamada joined Jon on the drinks, rehydration, and sustenance cart, keeping players refreshed throughout the day, while Brett Douglas took part as a competitor out on the green.
The golf day is a longstanding and much-loved Bain Fallon tradition. It’s a chance to build connections that last long after these events have wrapped up. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2026.
