The Veheri platform for veterinary diagnostic imaging provides a free education workspace, case rounds and industry leading Teleradiology reporting services

Dr Gehrig, you are the founder and CEO of Veheri.com, the veterinary imaging collaboration platform. How did Veheri come about?

To answer this question, I have to draw a little on my personal experience, working as a veterinarian. When I was still practising, I quickly realised how the collaboration with expert friends supported me in my daily work. I was able to work much more effectively. Over time, we realised how huge the demand for experts and second opinions actually is and, on the other hand, that the availability of experts worldwide is relatively small. The idea of pooling experts for reporting in a social collaborative platform environment, supported with the latest technology, was something I couldn’t let go of. A global platform, offering every vet access to expert knowledge while improving veterinary medicine.

What characteristics define Veheri?

Veheri transforms veterinary imaging by making expertise more accessible and affordable worldwide. We provide free access to a comprehensive repository of expertly prepared cases, industry-supported case rounds for collaborative learning, and a flexible teleradiology workspace supported by AI. Powered by the latest technology, from our advanced Viewer to intelligent reporting tools, Veheri provides veterinarians with a range of services adapted to their budget and the needs of pet parents, ensuring that every clinic, regardless of size, can benefit from high-quality imaging support. Our goal is to improve our profession and patient care on a global scale.

How does your teleradiology platform work?

We have two different reporting tracks for radiology and neurology, “Diplomate Only” and via “Expertise All” access to recognized experts such as FANZCVS (Radiology) or MMedVet-DiagIm. This broadens our offering and provides more reporting resources. Thanks to our large network of more than 600 experts, we deliver industry leading turnaround times. Our turnaround indicator always shows the current turnaround time real-time.

Who is your customer base for teleradiology, are they mainly large clinics?

We have a mixed client base from all around the globe. From small practices that send us mostly radiographs to large practices and hospitals that use our service for every CT and MR scan they perform. Overall, there is a clear trend towards outsourcing imaging reporting to specialists.

To what extent does AI play a role at Veheri?

A practical example: We offer medical translated reports and a one click, simplified pet owner report to improve communication and compliance. Veterinarians will soon be able to access a range of X-ray AI tools that are complementary to the human report to support instant decision-making. AI is also used to detect classical human errors, benefiting the expert by becoming more efficient while reporting.

You are a European provider – we are based on the other side of the world. What does this mean for diagnostic times?

We provide reporting around the clock, regardless of where the practice or clinic is based. It is important for us that our customers can reach us easily and quickly via different channels.

By the way, we offer every vet the first report free of charge to convince themselves of our teleradiology service.
