osteoarthritis injection for dogs

Beransa is a new medication for the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs. The injection offers effective pain relief and helps manage the condition.

What’s good about it

Beransa is a monoclonal antibody that binds to a molecule that’s involved in arthritic pain. As it’s so targeted, it’s very effective at reducing pain. It’s also a safe therapy as the antibody gets eliminated by the body in a natural way. It doesn’t affect the kidneys or the liver, which can happen with other medications. Anti-inflammatories are notorious for being hard on other organs in the body, as well as the stomach.

Beransa doesn’t interfere with other medications so it’s a good option for arthritis patients that are already on a lot of medications and supplements. It also works quickly and has no side effects. After one injection, most owners notice a difference and one injection lasts for one month. It’s much easier for owners to bring their dog to the clinic once a month for an injection rather than medicate their dog every day at home.

We have increasing numbers of patients going on this medication and the results have been fantastic. It’s been very well-received by our clients.

What’s not so good

The only sticking point is the price. It’s a bit more expensive than other medications. The dosage is based on the weight of the animal so big dogs cost more to treat. That said, over the course of a month, Beransa is only slightly more expensive than some of the anti-inflammatories that are taken daily.
