The Mocom Classic S is an autoclave that’s simple to use and very efficient. Since we replaced our old autoclave, we’ve had no trouble with overheating. The unit automatically validates itself and records every session into our computer system.
What’s good about it
It’s connected to the wi-fi so you can remotely sign in
and check the logs. It’s a perfect size, large enough for all our equipment, including our orthopaedic gear. It’s efficiently designed and doesn’t take up a lot of space in the steri room.
We’ve had this unit for six months and it has been very reliable. There are two cycles that provide excellent sterilisation for solid instruments and hollow products. It creates pressure with steam that penetrates the deepest layers of the equipment to kill all bacterial infestations. There are also six sterilisation programs that can be customised. It can also be set to start a cycle before the practice opens which is a great time-saver.
Maintenance is easy with the machine testing itself regularly. It provides the results of these tests daily. The whole unit has a complete maintenance routine completed by professionals once a year.
What’s not so good
When we first received it, the settings were locked and designed for the human medical world. We couldn’t adjust the temperature down to 121 degrees so we could autoclave plastic equipment. The problem could not be fixed online or over the phone, so they send out a rep to reprogram the unit. Since then, the autoclave has worked beautifully.
